Originally recorded July 17, 2018. I decided it was high time for me to get a new infrared thermometer. And then I saw an ad for one at newfrog.com, and it looked REMARKABLY similar to the ones many of you already have. Then I remembered, Harbor Freight By Any Other Name, It's Still The Same (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEvlTKFmMoU), and decided that this one is likely of the exact same quality as the one many of you have from Harbor Freight. So I bought it. And waited, and waited, and finally it showed up, after being on a srow low boat flom China. It's everything I had expected, and nothing it's not. Exactly what I was looking for. However, my old one had a nice little lanyard wrist strap, and I really missed that on the new one. So I decided to modify this brand new unit and add one. I wanted to take this extremely cautiously so as not to damage it, so I made a pilot with a soldering iron, then cleaned the burr with a razor blade. Then I used progressively larger drill bits until I got a hole large enough to pass the lanyard through. Now it's everything I was looking for!
