A bit of the Leamore Street Piccaddilly Line underpass between King St and Glenthorne Road in Hammersmith west London. The Premier West Hotel (PWH) where the police captured two IRA suspects on 23.09.1996 at 4:30 am shooting dead a third. Two others were arrested elsewhere. This was the culmination of a six week police MI5 surveillance operation. Read the story from some trial reporters at: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4158/is_19971022/ai_n14141901 The last wee bit is the Tusseley Road underpass for the Hammersmith & City Line. This is just south of Shepherd's Bush where the 7/21/2005 "Dud" bomber failed on this tube line to blow up the train at Shepherd's Bush station. After his bomb failed, he jumped onto the tracks, ran back north toward BBC's Television Centre and went through a house to escape. He went to to Italy where he was caught and returned for trial. He is now in prison unable to do harm like the IRA bombers who were caught nearby. This would be considered extreme antisocial behaviour. It's part of the neighbourhood. I used to work around the corner from the PWH in 1994. On the the other side of King Street almost opposite Leamore Street is Bridge Avenue which leads directly to Hammersmith Bridge. This has been targeted three times by the IRA. It's wise to be observant in this neighbourhood because the only way terrorists are really going to be stopped these days is with the public's help. Key to the bigger problems is addressing the lesser problems so that they do not create a distraction and disruption from those like terrorism which are far, far more important. Criminals seek to smokescreen worse behaviour by exploiting those, especially the young, who engage in antisocial behaviour trying to think that it's OK. It's never all right. Terrorism is a matter of degree with respect to antisocial behaviour.
