FlightCheck v6.90 Introduction to Adobe CS6, QuarkXPress 9 and more! Hi, everybody! David Dilling from Markzware here. Today, we're going to introduce you to our new version of FlightCheck. FlightCheck is a preflight application for the Macintosh which will scan and check multiple file formats to make sure what you have on screen will output correctly, whether going online, or to print. FlightCheck, as you can read here, has been on the market for more than 15 years. What's new in FlightCheck? Well, new in FlightCheck is that there's support added for CS6 documents. This includes, not only Adobe InDesign, however, more importantly, perhaps, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. It must be noted that it handles all versions of Creative Suite, all versions of QuarkXPress 9 and lower and many image file formats, such as TIFF or EPS. You can read here some of the other things we have improved, such as the handling of embedded EPS files and InDesign documents, easier activation system, very important for many, very easy to use now. improved collection of .ttc fonts, and, of course, our systems requirements. However, what is very important for many, and let's open up a different type of file here, you can also go File - Open or hit the Open icon is the ability of FlightCheck to preflight and package or collect Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator files. Let's check this Photoshop document. So, very important to preflight Photoshop files, as well, because checking files early as possible is key to a smooth workflow. Preflight, at its best, is done throughout the workflow. As you can see here in this chart. Alright, we see there's some RGB in this image, you might not want to use it for print; however, what I want to show you is how we can collect or package a Photoshop file, Illustrator file, InDesign, Quark, pretty much you name it, file. We'll collect with all fonts and images, no fonts, in this case, but, just the same, we can even compress the job, creating even one job folder. Very handy for sending off to the next party in the workflow. It's that easy. There we get the file with everything collected and, if there were fonts, they would be in there, as well. There's much more in the new FlightCheck, as you've read, and this is just a quick overview.
