I've been awarded a Leverhulme fellowship through the Pharmacy Research UK Trust. My research is designed to help pharmacists to assess and improve the way they help patients SM their LTCs.I'm developing and validating a patient reported outcome measure (AKA PROM) for use in community pharmacies. Around 18million people in England are living with long term conditions. Healthcare professionals, including community pharmacists, are being encouraged to adopt new ways of interacting with their patients, to give them the self-belief that they can take care of their health. This research is intended to enhance the delivery of patient centred care in community pharmacies. Pharmacists, researchers, service commissioners and regulators will have insight into whether pharmacists are achieving an outcome which has an impact on their patients' health and well-being.
