The problem is most often caused by server configuration. If your host is unable or unwilling to help you with the configuration you can use plugin to bypass the server email functions. To make this happen the first thing we have to do is install a plugin. To install this plugin please log into your WordPress dashboard, hover over Plugins and then click on Add New. On the next page type "Easy WP SMTP" into the search bar. The plugin we want should be the first one in the top left. Click on the Install Now button and then click Activate after it's installed. A small alert will appear at the top of the page. Click on the "settings menu" link in the alert to go to the plugin settings. Next, click on the documentation link near the top of the page: https://wp-ecommerce.net/easy-wordpress-smtp-send-emails-from-your-wordpress-site-using-a-smtp-server-2197 Scroll down that page until you see a section with settings for Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo. If you are using one of those services then use the settings there. If you are using a different service you'll need to find equivalent settings for this to work. What the plugin does is log into your email account and send the emails from your own email account. Which almost guarantees deliverability. After you've filled out the simple form click on save. Then scroll to the very bottom of the page to send a test email. You may receive an error at this point, especially if you're using Gmail. Gmail will block the plugins functionality and then send you an email about it. Click on the "allow less secure access" to allow the plugin to access your email account. You could also create a separate gmail account just for this plugin to work properly if you want. I hope this information helps you!
