We were having a nice easy day on the trail near Hemet, California with the San Diego Jeep Club, when we encounter this very nicely built Ford Bronco that had just rolled over moments before we pulled up on it. My first response when I heard there was a rollover on the radio was to grab my first aid kit and run up to the front to the convoy. The driver and passenger were a little shaken up, but thankfully no one was hurt, so we quickly turned our attention to getting this bronco upright. While speaking with the driver had lost the use of his brakes while going down hill and made a quick decision to try and slow the rig down by turning into the hill, this is what caused the rollover. If the driver would have continued down the hill at his current speed, he would have encountered a sharp turn along the cliff just ahead. I'm sure we have all experienced having to make a quick decision and then later second guessing what the best option was. A good lesson for everyone, even on an easy trail, you must be ready for the unexpected. They used the momentum from the hill to get the Bronco to a flat section. Not sure if they were able to get is started or if they had to tow it out. Really just thankful that everyone was safe.
