MySQL Stored Procedure 6 - How to Create Variables with SELECT and SET

http://bit.do/dbL4V DBSchema secret sale page.
In this video we will be creating variables in SQL Fiddle. We will go in a bit more depth as to why you need to be very careful to not use only = when you are defining a variable inside of a SELECT statement. Doing this will get you very weird results because MySQL is going to interpret it as a comparison. To protect against this, many programmers will use := regardless of whether they are using the SET keyword or the SELECT keyword. The choice is yours, just be consistent! We also give a quick look at the MySQL docs. http://sqlfiddle.com/#!9/982120 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Support me! http://www.patreon.com/calebcurry Subscribe to my newsletter: http://eepurl.com/-8qtH Donate!: http://bit.ly/DonateCTVM2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Additional Links~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More content: http://CalebCurry.com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/CalebTheVideoMaker Google+: https://plus.google.com/+CalebTheVideoMaker2 Twitter: http://twitter.com/calebCurry Amazing Web Hosting - http://mbsy.co/hTdJc (The best web hosting for a cheap price!)
