Saturday, 3rd April: 8 pm.: Arranged marriage talks. Sudden realisation that this is the girl I've been looking for! so... let's propose in style! Decision on style of proposal - surprise her in the morning, table covered with flowers... romantic music... good enuf.. let's do it! but how to say the words 'will u marry me'... aha - CAKE!!! What an idea! 8:15 pm. : Run for the car to hit the nearest 5 star bakery (they shut by 9!).. 8:45 pm: Reach bakery...yay! One chocolate cake left.. ask for packing with the message plate "Marry me?" ... aha! Counter lady gives the naughty look. the other foreign customer turns to shake hands for 10 min. constantly congratulating! wah! I like! Now... plan ahead... 9: 10 pm: Outside bakery... need to plan music. Aha.. i used to play the piano 15 years back! Let's get a piano, prepare a piece and play for her. So.. 9:30 pm: At sister's house, borrowing synth. 9:45 pm: realise that for plan to work.. i need to get into her house.. call her bro. telling him that it's a surprise.. he has to wake up and get me in and .. noone shud know.. also.. he needs to keep a video cam. ready.. this video is his doing! next.. flowers - her favorite is orchid! So.. decoration must be orchid... decided! How to keep her sleeping till i set up her house? She wakes early.. simple... 1 am : talk to her on phone till 2 am. Now she's tired. Won't wake up till 8 am atleast! Back to flowers... where to buy? Sunday, 4th April: Sun 5 am. Go to the early morning flower market and buy some 20 odd orchid stems! Also red n white roses for their petals. (Please see other video "Unexpected proposal vol. 2 - table decoration" to understand use) 6:30 am: Back from flower shopping, have a shower and go! 7:15 am: Dilwale dulhaniya le jaayenge! Off I go in the car 7:45 am: At their house.. bro. lets me in. Joint family, out in garden drinking tea.. they don't know what is HAPPENING.. they had been told 2 months I will take to convey decision on marriage and here i was with a piano.. flowers and ????? After that... video says it all... (Huge family they are near each other.. news spread like FIRE that i am proposing and see the vid.. ppl. keep coming in...) SUCCESS!!! Ladki maan gayi! :)
