Week #38 High Push Ups Don't skip this challenging exercise. When you think about all the positive gains from this one, you'll appreciate its importance. Keep in mind that you don't have to complete each week's suggested number of repetitions to enjoy the benefits. Proper form and consistency are the main areas of your performing this exercise (as well as all the others). In time, the number of repetitions will increase. Always work with your health care team and pay attention to what your body tells you - and STOPwhen your body tells you to STOP!! HOW: 1. Chest on floor. Hands at sides of chest with palms flat on floor. Legs straight with feet on chair. Feet are balanced either on toes or the balls of your feet. 2. Exhale(through your mouth) as you push up to full arms' length, making sure to round your back slightly and keep legs straight. 3. Inhale (through your nose) as you slowly return to original position. BENEFITS: 1. Develops powerful lungs. 2. Exceptional front shoulder (deltoid) strengthener. 3. Builds up and broadens upper torso. 4. Strengthens back and triceps. 5. Increases endurance. 6. Sharpens coordination.
