Sports have the power to transform lives. On the "The Hook-Up" Steiner Sports CEO Brandon Steiner explores the remarkable humanitarian power of sports by helping out sports fans with extraordinary stories with the help of some of the most notable athletes he's met throughout his career. In this episode, Brandon Steiner surprises the Hebrew Home in Bronx, NY with a Yankees Museum filled with tons of memorabilia including seats from the original Yankee Stadium. The room provides a comforting and joy-filled space for residents and visitors to recall their fondest Yankees and baseball memories. David V Pomeranz, Executive VP of the Hebrew Home, states "People come in and remember how sports changed their lives." Brandon talks with a few residents on how the exhibit enhances their home. Next, Brandon surprises a high school student dealing with a life changing heart condition. Colby Salerno, whom in the earlier stages of his life was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a form of heart disease, had recently spent 180 days in the hospital while waiting for a new heart. During that time, he started a blog called, "Tales from the 10th Floor" (http://talesfromthe10thfloor.tumblr.com/). In the two years since receiving a successful heart transplant, Colby has been accepted into medical school with plans to become a cardiologist, so that he may help people stricken by similar heart diseases. Brandon recruited Goose Gossage, former Yankees Pitcher, to join him in surprising Colby's Family at NYY Steak in NYC. When surprising Colby and his family, they present Colby with a check for $10,000 to help with Medical School. Brandon also reveals he has launched an online auction for Colby to raise even more money. The Have a Heart for Colby auction raises $24,000 to help with the cost of Colby's medical school education. The episode closes with Brandon interviewing Goose about their experience with Colby, Old Timers Day at Yankee Stadium and his life as a Baseball Hall of Famer.
